Arkansas crops: soybeans 64% and cotton 68% rated good to excellent

Arkansas crop development remains close to the average pace.

Twenty three percent of the corn crop has reached maturity with 83% in the dough stage and 66% rated good to excellent.  Rice is 49% headed, 1% mature, and 66% rated good to excellent.  Cotton is catching up to the average pace with 98% is squaring and 90% is setting bolls, 68% of the crop is rated good to excellent.  Soybeans are 92% blooming, 75% setting pods, and 64% is rated good to excellent.  Peanuts are rated 89% good to excellent with 97% of the crop pegging. 

Hay second cutting is 65% complete and 75% rated good.  Pastures are rated 55% good to excellent. 

Topsoil moisture is rated 58% percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is rated 59% adequate to surplus.
