Arkansas crops 82% cotton and 63% soybeans rated good to excellent

While a much drier week, some Arkansas farmers are still battling the damages left by recent flooding.  Twenty-eight percent of the corn is silking and 1% is in the dough stage with 66% rated good to excellent.  Twelve percent of cotton is squaring with 82% rated good to excellent.  Peanuts are rated 95% good to excellent with 13% pegging.  Soybeans are 93% planted and 85% emerged, and 30% blooming, with 63% rated good to excellent. Rice is 100% emerged with 69% rated good to excellent. 

Sixty percent of the winter wheat is harvested.  Hay cutting is 73% complete and rated 48% good to excellent.  Pastures are rated 58% good to excellent. 

Topsoil moisture is rated 72% percent adequate to surplus and subsoil moisture is rated 80% adequate to surplus.
