Arkansas corn crop 79 percent harvested

The National Agriculture Statistics Service in Arkansas says the state’s topsoil moisture is 42 percent adequate to surplus. There was light precipitation this past week, with most of it in the southeast corner.

Arkansas corn harvest is 79 percent complete. Almost 10 percent of the peanuts are harvested, nearly half the rice harvest is complete and 15 percent of the soybeans are harvested. The crop is 66 percent good to excellent

Almost 80 percent of cotton bolls are open and the crop is 86 percent good to excellent.
