ARC-CO payments underway; expect few for ’18

While the Farm Service Agency is in the process of making 2017 ARC-county payments for 2017, the University of Illinois says it’s wise to have low expectations for 2018 payments.

Farm-doc-daily says yields have been exceptional across much of the nation for corn and prices would have to be near $3-dollars for ARC-county payments.

Those payments for 2017 are within certain counties in 10 states including central Indiana, western Ohio and Central Michigan but the largest payments are mostly outside the U.S. corn Belt.

For soybeans, ARC-County payments in 2017 are being made in counties within nine states including border counties along the Wisconsin-Illinois border; as well as eastern Indiana, western Ohio, Michigan, and western North and South Dakota.

For wheat, payments are being made in certain counties within 10 states including North and South Dakota, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.
