April corn for ethanol use down on month

Corn for ethanol use during April 2021 was down modestly from March, but well above April 2020, when demand concerns linked to COVID-19 limited production.

The USDA says 410.017 million bushels of corn were used for fuel alcohol production, a decrease of 2% on the month, but an increase of 67% on the year.

Production of distillers dried grains with solubles was 1,786,152 tons, 1% lower than the previous month, but 76% higher than the year before.

The USDA’s next corn for ethanol use estimate is out June 10th.
