Another restaurant announces stall free intentions

Bruegger’s Bagels is next on a growing list of restaurants to move towards a stall-free pork supply chain.  In an announcement earlier today, the Burlington, VT based restaurant says it is making plans to eliminate gestation stalls.  Bruegger’s president, David Austin says the company cares deeply about creating a more humane and sustainable world.  He says Bruegger’s is working with their suppliers to eliminate stalls but – they do recognize it could take until 2022 to achieve their goal.

The company offers breakfast sandwiches featuring bacon, ham, and sausage.

Bruegger’s has over 300 locations in over 26 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada.

  • we need a list of restaurants that are caving in to hsus wishes ? HSUS people dont eat pork anyway !!!!
no wonder this country is in the shape it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dr.Temple Grandlin, the worlds leading authority on animal handling and humane care,is not in favor of gestation cages,, but is a firm believer in the concept of farrowing crates, a very profound difference which offers protection to the sow, her babies and to the handlers.

  • Farrowing cages or crates, whatever you want to call them provides protection to the sow , the babies and as important to the people, veterinarians, the herdsman and the workers. Sows are cannibalistic and love eating baby pigs and get in dangerous fights with their cohorts. I would love to see one of this animal rights people try to treat a 600 pound irritated sow for any reason in an open pen.
