Analyst recommends target orders to manage market volatility

A market analyst recommends using target orders to manage volatility.

Angie Setzer with Consus ROI tells Brownfield a lot of big moves have been occurring during overnight trade.

“There’s always this idea of let’s say $6.50 corn (as an example). Well do you want to put an order in? ‘No, I’ll watch it.’ And then what we tend to see happen is maybe $6.50 hits overnight and throughout the day we don’t see it trade (that high) again.”

She says growers she’s worked with never regret using target orders.

“And then build out a plan kind of in relation to that target order idea. Just have an idea of what you’re trying to accomplish, what is your ability to withstand risk (and) what does that mean for your plan as a whole.”
