An Ohio farmer says the planting season is wrapping up

West Central Ohio farmer Patty Mann says corn and soybean planting is nearly complete.

“We ran through the weekend and made really good progress,” she says. “Right now, it’s trending dry. We don’t have any rain in the forecast for 10 days out and it’s going to be 90 degrees today.”

She tells Brownfield there is decent soil moisture, but, “I’m worried how that’s going to look in another 10 days or two weeks. We’d sure like to see rain up ahead. I think a lot of people are in that same boat, though. It’s warm and windy and dry.”

The Shelby County farmer says early-planted crops are looking good.
