American Farm Bureau president wants to see more action on trade

American Farm Bureau President Zippy Duvall wants the Biden administration to be more active on the trade front in 2022.

“I’m real concerned about the lack of discussion around trade. We think that ought to be one of the main focuses because it not only keeps agriculture going, but all the small businesses across America (as well).”

Speaking to Brownfield at the American Farm Bureau Convention in Atlanta Monday, Duvall says Biden needs to make sure China follows through on its Phase One trade commitments.

“They ought to be held to the obligations they made, and we ought to be heavily talking about what a Phase Two looks like.”

Duvall says the rules of the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement must be enforced, but he urges the administration to be careful because of the importance of the Canadian and Mexican markets.
