American Coalition for Ethanol CEO says E15 rule “has to be bulletproof”

The CEO of the American Coalition for Ethanol says the rule allowing year-round sales of E15 needs to be bulletproof.

Brian Jennings tells Brownfield the legality of the rule will be scrutinized during the public comment period.

“Because we know there are forces out there, whether they are from the fossil fuels side or others, that are going to try and fight the ability for retailers to offer E15 to consumers.”

Jennings has been critical of the EPA for not getting the E15 proposal out sooner, but says the agency deserves some credit.

“EPA does need to be commended for doing a very thorough and careful job of putting together what I hope is a bulletproof legal case that survives this so we can ultimately make sure retailers have the ability to sell this fuel.”

The comment period for the proposed rule ends April 29th.
