Allendale survey shows record soybean crop

A farmer survey by a major analytical firm shows the U.S. could produce a record soybean crop for the second year in a row.

According to Allendale Inc., following a survey of farmers in 26 states, soybean production is expected to total 4.435 billion bushels, tied with the previous high set last year, with an average yield of 50.86 bushels per acre.

Those are just under what the USDA was projecting in August, but reflects the timely rainfall experienced in many key growing areas, which helped stabilize crop conditions.

Allendale has corn at 14.108 billion bushels with an average of 172.39 bushels per acre, below the August estimates and down from 2021.

The USDA’s first field-based production and yield numbers of the year are out September 12th.
