Allendale survey has wide range of corn, soybean yields

A producer survey from Allendale Incorporated projects a wide yield variance in the top U.S. corn and soybean states following the wide ranging weather throughout the growing season.

Allendale has corn at 13.755 billion bushels, with an average yield of 167.71 bushels per acre, with individual state yields ranging from a low of 136 in Kansas to a high of 192 in Iowa.

Soybeans are seen at 3.499 billion bushels with an average yield of 46.13 bushels per acre, with a range of 36 in Michigan and North Dakota to 55 in Nebraska.

Allendale’s expected frost free dates for corn and soybeans run from late September to mid-October. The numbers are based on survey results from producers in 29 states.

The USDA’s next set of supply, demand, and production estimates is out September 12th.

Illinois: Corn: 178 bushels per acre, compared to 181 USDA in August and 210 in 2018, frost free date of October 5th; Soybeans: 49 bushels per acre, compared to 55 USDA in August and 65 in 2018, frost free date of October 7th

Indiana: Corn: 163 bushels per acre, compared to 166 USDA in August and 189 in 2018; Soybeans: 46 bushels per acre, compared to 50 USDA in August and 58.5 in 2018

Iowa: Corn: 192 bushels per acre, compared to 191 USDA in August and 196 in 2018, frost free date of September 30th; Soybeans: 53 bushels per acre, compared to 55 USDA in August and 57 in 2018, frost free date of September 29th

Michigan: Corn: 156 bushels per acre, compared to 155 USDA in August and 153 in 2018, frost free date of October 17th; Soybeans: 36 bushels per acre, compared to 45 USDA in August and 48 in 2018, frost free date of October 2nd

Minnesota: Corn: 169 bushels per acre, compared to 173 USDA in August and 182 in 2018, frost free date of October 6th; Soybeans: 44 bushels per acre, compared to 46 USDA in August and 50.5 in 2018, frost free date of October 1st

Missouri: Corn: 158 bushels per acre, compared to 160 USDA in August and 140 in 2018; Soybeans: 44 bushels per acre, compared to 45 USDA in August and 45 in 2018

Nebraska: Corn: 186 bushels per acre, compared to 186 USDA in August and 192 in 2018; Soybeans: 55 bushels per acre, compared to 58 USDA in August and 59 in 2018

Ohio: Corn: 154 bushels per acre, compared to 160 USDA in August and 187 in 2018, frost free date of October 16th; Soybeans: 43 bushels per acre, compared to 48 USDA in August and 58 in 2018, frost free date of October 10th

South Dakota: Corn: 146 bushels per acre, compared to 157 USDA in August and 160 in 2018, frost free date of October 9th; Soybeans: 37 bushels per acre, compared to 45 USDA in August and 46 in 2018, frost free date of October 2nd

Wisconsin: Corn: 163 bushels per acre, compared to 165 USDA in August and 172 in 2018, frost free date of October 1st; Soybeans: 47 bushels per acre, compared to 47 USDA in August and 49 in 2018, frost free date of September 27th

Kansas: Corn: 136 bushels per acre, compared to 135 USDA in August and 129 in 2018; Soybeans: 42 bushels per acre, compared to 42 USDA in August and 43.5 in 2018

North Dakota: Corn: 141 bushels per acre, compared to 146 USDA in August and 153 in 2018, frost free date of October 7th; Soybeans: 36 bushels per acre, compared to 35 USDA in August and 35.5 in 2018, frost free date of September 27th
