Aidan Connolly optimistic about dairy long-term

A leader in ag tech innovation says when it comes to dairy, he sees the glass half-full.

Aidan Connolly is the former chief innovation officer for Alltech and now serves as CEO of ag tech startup Cainthus.

“I suppose whenever I see a half a glass of milk I always see it as half-full, not half-empty. In other words, I’m very much an optimist. The realities are humans are consuming more and more milk.”

He tells Brownfield consumers are choosing milk in various forms like yogurt and cheese.

“And increasingly, it’s different fractions of that milk being used for a wide range of different purposes. So I’d be very optimistic about the growth in the consumption of milk longer-term.”

In the short to medium-term, Connolly says oversupply will continue to weigh on milk prices.

Brownfield spoke to Connolly at the recent International Precision Dairy Conference in Rochester, Minnesota.
