Ag Disaster Aid part of Continuing Resolution

Agriculture disaster aid is part of the Continuing Resolution passed by Congress this week to fund federal agencies running through December 3rd.

The bill contains $10 Billion for losses farmers and ranchers suffered through drought and other natural disasters in 2020 and ’21. It’s through the Wildlife and Hurricane Indemnity Program Plus – known as WHIP Plus.

National Corn Growers President Chris Edgington says “te funding will be extremely helpful to (their) members who have struggled with adverse weather conditions in recent years.”

The stop-gap measure also extends Livestock Mandatory reporting through December third.
