96% of Illinois corn harvested

Harvest is winding down for Illinois growers.

The USDA says that as of Sunday, 96% of the state’s corn crop has been harvested, compared to the five-year average of 95%.

Seventy-four percent of the winter wheat crop has emerged. Thirty-five percent of the crop is in good-to-excellent shape.

USDA says the state’s pastures are rated 42% good-to-excellent.
