95% of U.S. corn, soybeans harvested

The U.S. corn and soybean harvests advanced last week, with many key growing areas either done or close to wrapping up for the season.

The USDA says 95% of the U.S. corn crop is harvested as of Sunday, compared to 91% a week ago and the five-year average of 95%, and 95% of soybeans have been harvested, compared to 92% last week and 96% on average.

96% of winter of wheat has been planted, compared to the normal rate of 97%, and 86% has emerged, compared to the usual pace of 87%, with 44% of the crop in good to excellent condition, a week to week decline of 2%.

75% of cotton is harvested, compared to 71% on average.

The USDA’s next set of production estimates is out December 9th.
