95% of Ohio corn, 94% of soybeans planted

Farmers nearly completed planting last week in Ohio.

Ninety-five percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, 80 percent of the crop has emerged, and 64 percent is rated good to excellent.

Soybean planting is 94 percent complete. Seventy-four percent of the crop has emerged and is rated 65 percent good to excellent.

The fist cutting of alfalfa hay is 83 percent complete. The first cutting of other hay is 78 percent complete.
