94% of Indiana corn, 86% of soybeans planted

Warm and dry conditions at the beginning of the week allowed planting to progress in Indiana and much-needed rain in the second half of the week helped spur emergence.

 According to the latest USDA crop progress and condition report, 94 percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, and 76 percent has emerged. Seventy-four percent of corn is in good to excellent condition.

Eighty-six percent of soybeans in Indiana are planted, and 63 percent of the crop has emerged.

Seventy-three percent of winter wheat is rated good to excellent.
