8% of South Dakota corn, 9% of soybeans harvested

South Dakota’s corn and soybean harvest continues to progress near the state’s average pace.

The USDA says 8% of South Dakota’s corn has been harvested. Sixty percent of the crop is mature with 95% dented.

The state’s soybean harvest is 9% complete. Eighty-two percent of the crop is dropping leaves.

Winter wheat is 52% planted, ahead of the 50% five-year average.

Pasture and range conditions are rated 14% good-to-excellent.
