56% of Indiana corn, 57% soybeans rated good to excellent

The USDA says timely rainfall helped stabilize crop conditions last week in Indiana as emergence for corn and soybeans neared competition.

Fifty-six percent of the state’s corn crop is rated good to excellent.

Fifty-seven percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent.

Winter wheat is rated 73 percent good to excellent with 61 percent of the crop mature and eight percent harvested.

The second cutting of alfalfa hay is eight percent complete, and the second cutting of other hay is four percent complete.
