5% of Tennessee corn planted

Corn planting continues in parts of Tennessee.

The USDA says that as of Sunday, 5% of the state’s corn crop has been planted, compared to the five-year average of 6%. Producers in the western part of the state have been preparing equipment in preparation for corn and soybean planting, while farmers in East Tennessee have had some corn planting delays due to wet conditions.

The winter wheat crop is rated 58% good to excellent.

Pasture conditions are considered 53% good to excellent.
