48% of Ohio corn, 56% of soybeans rated good to excellent

Cooler and dry conditions continued last week in Ohio.

The USDA says crop conditions fell slightly to 48 percent of corn and 56 percent of soybeans rated good to excellent.

Ninety-four percent of the corn crop is silking and 39 percent is in the dough stage. Ninety-two percent of soybeans are blooming, and 67 percent are setting pods.

The third cutting of alfalfa hay is 48 percent complete.

Ninety-three percent of oats are harvested.
