47% of Ohio corn, 54% of soybeans rated good to excellent

Warm and dry conditions continued last week in Ohio.

The USDA says crop conditions fell slightly to 47 percent of corn and 54 percent of soybeans rated good to excellent.

Sixty-six percent of the corn crop is in the dough stage and 7 percent is dented. Ninety-seven percent of soybeans are blooming, and 84 percent are setting pods.

The third cutting of alfalfa hay is 64 percent complete and the third cutting of other hay is 38 percent complete.

Ninety-six percent of oats are harvested.
