47% of Michigan corn, 49% of soybeans harvested

The USDA says several parts of Michigan experienced the first frost of the season last week.  

Forty-seven percent of the state’s corn crop is harvested, well ahead of the five-year average. Sixty-six percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.

Forty-nine percent of Michigan soybeans are harvested, behind the five-year average. Seventy-one percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.

Sugarbeets are 46 percent harvested while dry beans are 97 percent finished.
