36% of Indiana corn, 33% of soybeans planted

The USDA says planting progress advanced despite cool temperatures last week in Indiana.

Thirty-six percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, 16 percentage points ahead of the one-year average. Six percent of the crop is emerged.

Thirty-three percent of soybeans are planted, 27 percentage points ahead of the one-year average. Five percent of the crop is emerged.

Seventy-eight percent of the winter wheat crop is rated good to excellent.
