31% of Ohio corn, 18% of soybeans planted

The USDA says warm and dry conditions helped spur planting progress in Ohio last week.

Thirty-one percent of the state’s corn crop is planted, compared to 37 percent last year. Five percent of the crop has emerged.

Eighteen percent of soybeans are planted, compared to the one-year average of 28 percent. Three percent of the crop has emerged.

Winter wheat is rated 60 percent good to excellent.
