2019 cotton ginnings top 15 million bales
2019 U.S. upland cotton ginnings continue to run ahead of the 2018 pace because of a bigger crop. The USDA says that as of December 15th, ginnings are 15,229,050 bales, compared to 11,686,700 this time last year. Texas is in the lead at 5,355,600 bales ginned, more than 3 million ahead of second place Georgia.
The next set of ginning numbers, along with new supply, demand, and production estimates is out January 10th.
Year to date ginning comparisons for Brownfield states:
Arkansas: 1,231,600 bales, compared to 1,103,600 a year ago
Missouri: 673,300 bales, compared to 705,400 a year ago
Tennessee: 858,950 bales, compared to 731,250 a year ago
