2019 cotton ginnings stay ahead of 2018

The larger than a year ago cotton crop continues to fuel the faster ginnings pace. The USDA says that as of November 15th, upland cotton ginnings are 9,142,850 bales, compared to 6,889,050 last year at this time. Texas is in the lead at 3,249,800 bales, ahead of Georgia at 1,295,900, and most of the states that got off to a slow start have made up some ground. The USDA’s next ginnings update is out December 10th, along with the new supply, demand, and production numbers.

Year to date cotton ginning totals for Brownfield states:

Arkansas: 779,700 bales, compared to 780,750 a year ago

Missouri: 396,600 bales, compared to 482,950 a year ago

Tennessee: 510,650 bales, compared to 499,700 a year ago
