Indiana FFA Reporter: Bayer investment will positively impact FFA members

Bayer has announced it will invest $6 million in FFA and 4-H. Indiana FFA State Reporter Taylor Roy says it means a lot that the company is investing in an organization that has made a huge impact on her life.

“I know for sure if it wouldn’t have been for FFA, I wouldn’t have the leadership skills and career choice,” she says. “The fact that (Bayer) is taking the time to invest in the leaders of the future is important.”

Speaking to Brownfield at the Farm Progress Show, she says she wouldn’t be where she is today without FFA.

“I was definitely that shy person in the back of the classroom who had no idea what agriculture even was,” she says. “Once I learned what agriculture does for everyone and what it can do for me it’s definitely been life changing to be able to impact the members.”

Roy says the state officer team is getting ready for its first conference, a leadership development workshop for chapter officers and members.
