18% of Indiana corn, 11% of soybeans planted

Farmers made planting progress in Indiana last week because of a mostly dry week and cool soil temperatures.

Corn is 18 percent planted and one percent emerged. Soybeans are 11 percent planted.

The USDA says corn and soybean plantings are both ahead of the five-year average.

Winter wheat conditions remain stable with 42 percent of the crop jointing.
