15th case of HPAI confirmed in Nebraska

The Nebraska Department of Agriculture and USDA’ s Animal and Plant Health Inspection service have confirmed another case of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

NDA says a backyard flock in Northeast Nebraska’s Knox County has tested positive bringing the state’s total to 15.

NDA says A 6.2-mile surveillance zone will be established around the flock.  

State Veterinarian Dr. Roger Dudley says the flock has been depopulated and disposed of and poultry producers in the surveillance area should report signs and symptoms of HPAI to NDA immediately.
