“Next big thing in weed control”

Monsanto company says it is pleased that farmers and others have the chance to comment on its Dicamba technology. Miriam Paris, Monsanto’s RoundUpReady® Xtend launch lead, tells Brownfield it will make a difference for growers, “We’ve been working in this space for several years now. We do believe that this is going to be the next big thing in weed control.”

She says there is a link on Monsanto’s website for farmers to submit comments to the EPA, “Somewhere around four to six months after the initiation of that comment period we would expect to see a final determination on the label for Dicamba in its approval.”

Paris says that would mean the products would be available in soybean and cotton, not for this year, but for 2017.  The EPA comment period goes through April 30th.
