11% of corn, 15% of rice harvested in Missouri

Corn and rice harvest are well underway in Missouri with 6 days suitable for field work last week.

The USDA reports as of Sunday 11% of corn is harvested, up from 5% the week before. 64% of the crop has reached maturity with 50% rated good to excellent, unchanged on the week.

Rice harvest is 15% complete, up from 2% the week prior with 58% rated good to excellent also unchanged on the week.

Twenty-seven percent of Missouri soybeans are dropping leaves with 48% in the good to excellent category.

The amount of cotton opening bolls reached 55% with 52% rated good to excellent.

The third cutting of alfalfa hay is 95% complete and pasture conditions fell again this week at just 30% good to excellent, with 36% considered poor to very poor.
