100% of South Dakota corn, 95% of soybeans emerged

The USDA says nearly all of South Dakota’s corn and soybean crop has emerged.

The Crop Progress Report on Monday showed 75 percent of the state’s corn is in good to excellent condition, and 73 percent of the soy crop was rated in that same category.

Ninety-five percent of the state’s winter wheat crop has headed, which is near 97 percent last year.

Spring wheat was rated 68 percent good to excellent, with 45 percent of the crop headed, well behind last year’s pace of 77 percent.

Pasture and range conditions were rated 46 percent good to excellent.
