Milk futures mostly higher, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange are still in mixed territory much like the cash trade at midweek.

December Class III milk down a nickel at $15.19.  January 24 cents lower at $15.64.  February down seven cents at $16.24.  March four cents higher at $16.54.  April through June contracts four to six cents higher.

Dry whey up $0.01 at $0.45.  Two trades were made at $0.4450 and $0.45. 

Blocks down $0.0425 at $1.5775.  Two sales were made at $1.5750 and $1.5775.

Barrels down $0.0075 at $1.4150.  Six trades were made ranging from $1.4025 to $1.4175. 

Butter up $0.0475 at $1.4575.  Six trades were made ranging from $1.44 to $1.46.

Nonfat dry milk up $0.0050 at $1.15. 

The USDA has adjusted November Class and Component prices mostly higher.  The Class II milk price was set at $13.86 per hundredweight, up $0.23 from October, the Class III price was $23.34, $1.73 higher, and Class IV was $13.30, down $0.17.
