Milk futures mixed, cash dairy mostly higher

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed mixed at midweek as positive cash trade supported nearbys and a higher dollar added pressure to much of the complex.

March Class III milk up two cents at $17.97. April seven cents higher at $18.60. May down 19 cents at $18.41. June 22 cents lower at $18.65. July through September contracts 11 to 16 cents lower.

Dry whey up $0.0125 at $0.45.

Blocks up $0.0350 at $1.96. Three trades were made at $1.9250 and $1.96.

Barrels up $0.0475 at $1.8875. Four sales were made from $1.84 to $1.8850.

Butter unchanged at $2.38.

Nonfat dry milk down $0.0050 at $1.18. One trade was made at $1.19.
