Milk futures lower, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange started the week lower as commodities hang on to their negative price trend while cash markets were mixed.

October Class III milk down eight cents at $20.82. November down 40 cents at $20.30. December down 26 cents at $20.17. January down 31 cents at $20.08. February through April contracts 21 to 30 cents lower.

Dry whey up $0.0025 at $0.4525. One sale was made at $0.46.

Blocks up $0.05 at $2.01. One sale was made at that price.

Barrels down $0.01 at $2.1750.

Butter unchanged at $3.1325.

Nonfat dry milk unchanged at $1.58.
