Milk futures, cash dairy trade mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed mixed in a narrow range Friday with little direction from cash markets.

September Class III milk down one cent at $16.53. October three cents higher at $17.30. November unchanged at $16.96. December unchanged $17.18. January through March contracts five cents lower to a penny higher.

Dry whey up $0.0025 at $0.5725. One sale was made at $0.57.

Blocks unchanged at $1.7075.

Barrels unchanged at $1.60.

Butter down $0.0250 at $1.7275. Sixteen trades were made from $1.7275 to $1.7425.

Nonfat dry milk down $0.01 at $1.36. Five trades were made from $1.36 to $1.3650.
