Milk futures, cash dairy trade higher

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange started the week higher supported by cash markets.

September Class III milk up one cent at $16.54. October 21 cents higher at $17.51. November up 32 cents at $17.34. December 16 cents higher at $17.37. January through March contracts unchanged to a nickel higher.

Dry whey unchanged at $0.5725.

Blocks up $0.0025 at $1.71. Two trades were made at that price.

Barrels up $0.02 at $1.62. Three trades were made from $1.6075 to $1.62.

Butter up $0.0175 at $1.7450. Eleven trades were made from $1.7450 to $1.7625.

Nonfat dry milk unchanged at $1.36.
