Milk futures, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed mixed Thursday as a higher dollar and lower cheese trade weighed on prices.

October Class III milk was down 11 cents at $17.01. November three cents lower at $17.22. December up three cents at $17.74. January 12 cents higher at $18.00. February through April contracts three to 23 cents higher.

Dry whey unchanged at $0.2875. Four sales were made from $0.2875 to $0.2975.

Blocks down $0.03 at $1.77.

Barrels down $0.0450 at $1.5650. Nine trades were made from $1.5650 to $1.59.

Butter up $0.0950 at $2.9350.

Nonfat dry milk up $0.0325 at $1.16. Seven trades were made from $1.1475 to $1.16.
