Milk futures, cash dairy mixed

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange continued to seesaw Tuesday with little direction from global markets or cash trade.

April Class III milk unchanged at $17.64.  May up three cents at $19.07.  June down a penny at $19.78.  July up seven cents at $19.84.  August through October contracts nine to 11 cents higher.

Dry whey down $0.0150 at $0.6450. 

Blocks unchanged at $1.80.  Two trades were made at that price. 

Barrels up $0.0075 at $1.82.  One sale was made at $1.8125.

Butter down $0.0075 at $1.7450. 

Nonfat dry milk up $0.02 at $1.34.  Six sales were made at $1.34 and $1.3350.

The Global Dairy Trade index in New Zealand again traded lower, down 0.7 percent, Tuesday.  Butter was down 12.1 percent, followed by declines in cheddar and anhydrous milk fat.  Butter milk powder was up 14.4 percent. Increases were also reported in skim and whole milk powders.
