Milk futures, cash dairy lower

Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange closed lower Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s milk production and cold storage reports while cash trade was also lower.

February Class III milk down six cents at $18.61. March seven cents lower at $18.21. April down seven cents at $18.51. May five cents lower at $18.80. June through August contracts 14 cents lower to unchanged.

Dry whey down $0.0025 at $0.2350. Seven trades were made from $0.3250 to $0.33.

Blocks down $0.0025 at $1.9875.

Barrels down $0.0050 at $1.6650.

Butter down $0.0150 $2.2675. One sale was made at that price.

Nonfat dry milk down $0.0050 at $1.1675. One sale was made at that price.
