Dairy markets down to start the new year

The Dairy markets were down to start the new year Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

January milk was down $.06 at $14.02.  February was down $.18 at $13.59.  March was down $.17 closing at $13.57.  April was down $.16 at $13.89.  Futures for the first half of 2018 were all down and up for the second half of 2018 Tuesday.

Grade AA Butter was unchanged closing at $2.2075.  There were no sales recorded for a third straight trading session.

Barrels were down $.0150 at $1.4275.  Three carloads were traded ranging from $1.4275 to $1.4375.

40-pound blocks were down $.0150 to $1.5250.  Two carloads of blocks at $1.53 and $1.54.

Nonfat dry milk was down $.0075 closing at $.67.  Two carloads were sold, with one at $.6650 and the other at $.6675 per pound.
