Corn, soybeans mixed, wheat down

Soybeans and corn were mixed Thursday, with nearby contracts down on technical and fund selling. There wasn’t much fresh news for corn and beans are focusing on slow demand due to increased South American supplies and concerns over Chinese demand due to avian influenza. Wheat was lower with Kansas City leading the way down on profit taking, but there are definitely still a lot of worries about conditions in the Plains. Weekly export sales and shipments were bullish on corn and soybeans, bearish on wheat. Soybean meal was mixed, mirroring beans, and bean oil was lower with another down day for crude oil. Ethanol futures were higher.
