CME milk higher, cash dairy mixed Thursday

Milk futures were higher in the near months and cash dairy prices were down except for cheese Thursday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February Class III milk was up $0.11 at $18.32.  March was up $0.21 at $18.16.  April was up $0.15 at $18.35.  May was up $0.15 at $18.70.  June through December contracts range from one cent lower in August and September to six cents higher in October.

Dry whey was down $0.0175 at $0.3125.  Seven sales were recorded from $0.3125 to $0.3225.

Cheese prices were higher, with blocks up $0.0425 at $1.96.  One sale was made at that price

Cheese barrels were up $0.0175 at $1.59.  Twenty-two sales were recorded from $1.5825 to $1.59.

Butter remained unchanged at $2.2675.  No sales were recorded.

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0025 at $1.1625.  One sale was recorded at that price.
