CME milk futures mostly down, dairy mixed Friday

Milk futures were mostly down and cash dairy prices were mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Friday.

June Class III milk was up $0.01 at $24.30.  July closed down $0.21 at $23.56 and a loss of $0.70 over two days.  August closed up $0.03 at $24.13.  September was down $0.02 at $23.92.  October through May contracts ranged from three cents lower in March to nineteen cents lower in October.

Dry whey was up $0.0150 at $0.5075.  Eight sales were recorded from $0.50 to $0.51.

Cheese Blocks gained back almost half of Thursday’s losses and were up $0.0650 at $2.1450. One sale was made at that price.

Cheese Barrels were up $0.0225 to $2.1575.  Five trades were made from $2.1350 to $2.1575.

Butter was down $0.02 to $2.94.  Eight trades were made from $2.92 to $2.95.

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.01 to $1.79. No sales were recorded.

Due to the Juneteenth federal holiday, the markets will be closed Monday, June 20th.
