CME milk futures higher, cash dairy mixed Wednesday

Milk futures were higher in the near term and cash dairy prices were mixed Wednesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

May Class III milk was up $0.06 at $16.46.  June was up $0.31 at $17.19.  July was up $0.22 at $17.87.  August was up $0.09 at $18.54.  September through April contracts ranged from one cent lower in November and December to six cents higher in October.

Dry whey was down $0.01 at $0.3025.  Fourteen sales were recorded from $0.3025 to $0.3125.

Cheese blocks were up $0.0575 at $1.67.  Three sales were recorded from $1.64 to $1.66.

Cheese barrels were up $0.02 at $1.5350.  Twelve sales were recorded at that price.

Butter was unchanged at $2.3950.  No sales were recorded.

Nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.18.  No sales were recorded.
