CME milk futures higher, cash dairy mixed Friday

Milk futures were up in the near term and cash dairy prices were mixed going into the holiday weekend on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

January Class III milk was up $0.21 at $19.46.  February was up $0.15 at $18.67.  March was up $0.02 at $18.63.  April was up $0.02 at $18.99.  May through November contracts ranged from two cents lower in May to twelve cents higher in June.

Dry whey was unchanged at $0.3850.  No sales were recorded.

Cheese blocks were up $0.0500 at $2.1225.  One sale was recorded at $2.10.

Cheese barrels were up $0.0350 at $1.7950.  Nine sales were recorded from $1.7550 to $1.7950.

Butter was down $0.08 to $2.3950.  One sale was recorded at that price.

Nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.33.  No sales were recorded.

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange will be closed Monday for the holiday.
