CME milk futures higher, cash dairy mixed Friday

Milk futures were higher and cash dairy markets were mixed Friday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.   

October Class III milk was up $0.17 at $16.88.  November was up $0.27 at $17.17.  December was up $0.18 at $17.50.  January was up $0.09 at $17.99.  February through August contracts ranged from seventeen cents lower in June to nine cents higher in January.   

Dry whey was down $0.0050 at $0.29. Sixteen sales were recorded, ranging from $0.2875 to $0.2950. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were unchanged at $1.72. No sales were recorded. 

Cheese barrels were up $0.01 at $1.48.  Four sales were recorded, ranging from $1.48 to $1.4825. 

After a week of rising prices, Butter was down $0.0350 at $3.30.  One sale was recorded at $3.32. 

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0025 at $1.1850. Two sales were recorded at that price.
