CME milk futures & cheese prices closed higher Tuesday

Milk futures were higher and cash dairy prices mixed Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

March Class III milk was up $0.17 at $17.95.  April was up $0.75 at $18.53.  May was up $0.66 at $18.60.  June was up $0.54 at $18.87.  July through January contracts ranged from unchanged twelve cents higher in December to forty cents higher in July.

Dry whey was down $0.0025 at $0.4375.  One sale was recorded at that price.

Cheese blocks were up $0.1150 at $1.9250.  Two sales were recorded at $1. 85 and $1.90.

Cheese barrels were up $0.0450 at $1.84.  Seven sales were recorded from $1.7950 to $1.84.

Butter was unchanged at $2.38.  No sales were recorded.

Nonfat dry milk was unchanged at $1.1750.  Five sales were recorded from $1.1750 to $1.1825.
